“VM design+build did a great job on my kitchen and master bathroom remodel. They were able to design new layouts for both rooms, which gave them a bigger floor plan to work with. They were very professional and always responded right away if you had any questions or concerns.” – Mac C.
Congratulations Van Metre Design+Build!
“For this project, we removed and replaced all fixtures, fittings, finishes, sub floor, and windows in the master bathroom. Then, we reconfigured the master bathroom layout and installed a new master bathroom per design.”

This 5,000-square foot Mediterranean estate, built in 1926 in Portland, Oregon’s Historic Irvington District, required extensive restoration and revitalization. The overall aesthetic of the home is updated and fresh, but it draws from the style of the era that it was built. The spa-like master bathroom features a soaking tub crafted from volcanic pumice stone, gorgeous Carrara tilework in the generous walk-in shower, and in-floor radiant heat to enjoy during long Pacific Northwest winters.
This remodel involved demoing the vanity, flooring, commode, and bathtub. We installed beautiful polished-white Carrera tile flooring in an intricate diamond pattern. To give the bathroom a luxurious look and feel, we carried Carrera tile along the baseboards and into the new walk-in shower. A furniture-style vanity with Carrera countertops and an under-mount sink was installed. To keep the space feeling light and airy, we painted the walls a light-gray and installed two new sconces and a pendant light. High-end finishes and bath accessories add the finishing touches to this glamorous bath.
